The FAVORITE CHEF competition: one chef will win $25,000 and appear in a 2-page advertorial in Taste of Home Magazine. Culinary creators from all walks of life are welcome to slice, dice, simmer, and showcase their skills while supporting an amazing cause, the James Beard Foundation!

Nicci’s friends set up this fundraiser to raise money to Vote for Nicci by Donation (funds go to the James Beard Foundation). You get great coffee, Nicci gets more votes, the James Beard Foundation gets more money… it’s a win-win-win!

Coffees come in 2 sizes:
the STANDARD 350g bag makes about 30-40 nice sized mugs & typically last 1 coffee drinker about 2 weeks
the LARGE 900g bag makes around 100 cups or 15-20 pots of coffee & usually lasts 2 coffee lovers (or 1 serious coffee fiend) for 3 to 4 weeks
We donate a few dollars for every item purchased so the more you buy, the more Nicci’s campaign (and the James Beard Foundation) gets.
All pricing is in Canadian Dollars. There is a flat rate shipping fee per order.

How much money will go to the fundraisers?
We donate about 20% of total sales to Nicci’s campaign. There are bonuses so as sales increase, the amount earned also increases.
What’s the purpose of this fundraiser?

Who or what inspires you to cook?
I’m not sure what inspires me. When I was in elementary school. I would skip school to come home, I would lay out the china and cook. It was so freeing. It was/is my happy place. Then I would put it all away before my family got home. My mom would have been mortified and probably will be. I still love setting up my china and cooking 😍
What's your all time favorite dish to make?
This is hard because it changes ... I love a good beef tenderloin cooked on cast iron, homemade caesar salad and a veggie. can I put two?... lol Im also digging a chicken fajita bowl right now with homemade avocado dressing ... drool
What would you do with the $25,000?
I have been off work for the last 4 years because I have trigeminal neuralgia. It's actually known as THE most painful condition EVER. I also have an auto immune disease, that decides to attack my body sporadically. I would use this money to pay off some debt and take my fiancée on a much needed kid free vacation. My fiancée has been so patient! He takes care of me when i'm in pain, when I can't walk, when im in the hospital, when I need him to do everything for me. He is my hero.

It’s the best coffee in Canada! We may be biased but you can trust our customers. See below for what they have to say about Sparkplug coffees.
All our coffees are made from ethically sourced, premium Arabica coffees. Most beans are directly traded, some are FairTrade and/or organic.
Beans are roasted weekly, hand-blended and packed to order (whole bean or ground) to ensure it arrives at your door as fresh as possible. We recommend drinking it up within 3-4 months of the packing date (noted on every bag) for the freshest, most flavourful coffee. Drink it up faster if it’s pre-ground.

Yes, these are totally edible!
Do these contain caffeine?
Yes, Perk Me Ups contain caffeine and sugar so will give you a little energy boost.
How much will these perk me up?
Just a bit. They are safe to eat at any time of day. You know how much caffeine and sugar you can handle.
