Organic ETHIOPIAN beans are the secret to the CAPA ROAD TRIP BLEND’S sweet and balanced taste. We call it a City Roast - on the lighter side of medium - to bring out hints of blueberry, jasmine and raisin. A lighter tasting and modern-style coffee, this one is for coffee connoisseurs. Tastes best drunk black or with a tiny splash of your fave coffee creamer.

Helping people living with arthritis find their voice

Fundraising faq:

  • FUNDRAISER DATES

    • The CAPA Fundraiser runs throughout September, Arthritis Awareness Month.

  • How can I pay for the coffee?

    • You can pay by credit card or PayPal (no need for a PayPal account) on our website. All orders must be paid for at time of ordering

  • How much money will CAPA make?

    • Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance earns between 15% and 20% of total sales. There are bonuses so as sales increase, the portion that goes back to support CAPA also increases.

  • What’s the purpose of this fundraiser?

    • The Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance (CAPA) is Canada’s only volunteer-based arthritis patient organization run by patients for patients.
CAPA is entirely patient-run and -driven, independent, and supports a community of people living with arthritis across the nation.
CAPA’s belief is that the first expert on arthritis is the person who lives with arthritis and this person provides a critical voice and perspective that needs to be heard in decision-making. CAPA uses the power of information, research, and communication to help people living with arthritis find their voice and to support others.
Many people think arthritis only affects older people, or that it is merely a word for aches and pains. CAPA works to clear up these misconceptions to create a better Canada for people living with arthritis and for those who support them. Arthritis is a number of debilitating diseases which affect Canadians of all ages and backgrounds. By collecting and producing patient resources, policy papers, and outreach projects, CAPA seeks to educate and empower people living with arthritis so they can continue to positively contribute to society and improve their health care experiences.

    • Funds raised through Coffee for CAPA will support general advocacy efforts directed towards decision and policy makers federally and provincially. CAPA provides perspectives from people who live with arthritis to those making decisions about access, coverage, and costs of critical medications, drug shortages, wait times, and more. It will also support or work to ensure that our community has access to up to date and evidence-based information about their medications, keeping safe during the ongoing pandemic, and living as well as they can with arthritis.

Coffee faq:

How do the coffee SIZES work?

  • the STANDARD 350g bag makes about 40 nice sized mugs

  • the LARGE 900g bag makes around 100 cups or 15-20 pots of coffee

How good is this coffee?

  • It’s the best coffee in Canada! We may be biased but you can trust our customers. See below for what they have to say about Sparkplug coffees.

    1. All our coffees are made from ethically sourced, premium Arabica coffees. Most beans are directly traded, some are FairTrade and/or organic.

    2. Every week, our coffees are roasted, hand-blended and packed to order (whole bean or ground just before shipping) to ensure it arrives as fresh as possible. We recommend drinking them up within 3-4 months of the packing date (noted on every bag) for the freshest, most flavourful coffee. Drink it up faster if it’s pre-ground.

PERK ME UP FAQ:

Do I just eat these? Whole coffee beans?

  • Yes, these are totally edible!

Do these contain caffeine?

  • Yes, Perk Me Ups contain caffeine and sugar so will give you a little energy boost.

How much will these perk me up?

  • Just a bit. They are safe to eat at any time of day. Just don't go crazy and eat them all just before bedtime!

Allergy alert! Made for us at a facility in Toronto that also makes nutty products. Contains milk ingredients and may have come in contact with peanuts, tree nuts and wheat.
