“The aroma of freshly ground beans, the warmth, comfort and complexity of a simple cup of perfectly brewed black coffee. I love how a good cup of coffee kick starts my day and puts me in my comfort zone each morning.”
What's the most memorable coffee you've ever had?
“Together with George Brown culinary school students, I toured the Lavazza coffee factory in Turin, Italy. After an incredible coffee cupping (tasting) with Lavazza professionals, I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal in their lovely employee cafeteria. The espresso served after lunch is the most memorable I’ve had to date.”

How do you make your coffee?
Burr grinder and an automatic coffee maker designed for cone-shaped filters. I also just purchased an old-school, manual, cone-drip brewer that I’m hoping will make the perfect single cup.
“I like to keep things simple. In my humble opinion, a simple cup of black coffee is the best way to fully experience perfectly roasted beans. Kara has a real knack for brewing up delicious blends.”
What's a favourite place to go out for coffee? Balzac’s in the Distillery (Toronto), Vic Café on Main St, Picton & The General on Main St, Wellington (Prince Edward County)
And what's your usual order? Skim milk latte, extra hot.
