A medium roast coffee from the wilds of Guatemala
I’m excited to share that we have a new coffee in season: TRAILBLAZER medium roast Guatemalan blend.
This coffee is grown in the western highlands of Guatemala, near the city of Huehuetenango (I love this name so much! It sounds as exotic and lovely as the coffee grown there tastes, don’t ya think?)
TRAILBLAZER is a medium roast coffee so that you can taste the peppery, spiciness of the coffee while still getting a smooth, rich and complex cup of coffee. Like all our seasonal picks, TRAILBLAZER is a limited edition coffee, just here for a few weeks so get it while you can!
Guatemala is a coffee country that I have not (yet) visited. But several years ago, my brother and sister-in-law lived and worked in a small village about 200km from where Trailblazer is grown. They were building pedal-powered machines for pumping water, grinding corn and other tasks.
The stories about their adventures in Guatemala first piqued my interest in this country. And I was thinking of them, inspiring me with their travels and ecological work, when thinking of a name for Trailblazer.
The region that Trailblazer comes from is in the Western Highlands. These coffees are grown on north-facing slopes of the mountains. Huehue (as it’s known by its visitors) also has a Mayan archaeological site dating back to the 1500s. Zaculeu is not as famous as Tikal, but is historically important and I hope to visit it one day.
